Democrats (Mayoral Candidate)  endorses Homosexual Benefits

I have received several inquiries about whom I am supporting in the General Election this year. There are lots of ways to look at endorsements.

  • Some folks are social conservatives concerned with society's ever increasing moral slide and the City Democrats never ceasing pre-occupation with special health benefits for homosexuals working for the City (the latest being Democrat Craig Madans support for it in the Observer in the last few days). Madans said:

Madans, in response to a caller's question, said that [homosexual benefits] was not a major issue but that he would favor a change. "If it's good enough for the banks, it's good enough for us," he said. Observer, 11-3-2005

  • Some are concerned about the lack of police services to protect citizens. To see the "face of Crime" click here. The City has added additional police but then allocates them to guard the Bobcats Arena ignoring high crime that make some neighborhoods look like a 3rd world.

It seems like every few days there is another incident of an inner-city child being "tazered" or arrested or another school in lock down mode for a day. And yet, CMS blithely ignores reality and any discussion of a reform school or other necessary crime control measures asking for another 1/2 billion in the ultimate show of chutzpah.

CMS' Democrat majority, while ignoring school crime, has no problem endorsing a "gay day" for students and voting (last month) to return to a racial student assignment policy that denies seats to inner-city students to create "diversity" .

Things need to change and in particular they need to change at CMS.

No society can long stand that allows thugs to roam the halls and crime to go unpunished.

No society can long stand by ignoring the role of the family and attempting to replace a Mom and Dad with other relationships at odds with God and Nature.

Ultimately it is the failure of Government (and those elected) who refuse to stand for what is right and to condemn that which is wrong.  To change government you have to change those elected to run it.

For all these reasons, I support the State/Mecklenburg GOP slate listed below. Because the CMS School Board elections are critical the State Republican Party sent this flyer to tens of thousands GOP voters this week with these endorsements:

In addition to the GOP slate, I also endorse (or oppose) the following:

  • I support Lee Myers (D, Mayor of Matthews)

  • I support Ted Biggers (D, Mayor of Mint Hill)

  • I support Kress Query (D, Matthews Town Council)

  • I support Carl M "Mickey" Ellington (D, Mint Hill Town Council)

  • I oppose the CMS School Bonds (see this web link for reasons)

  • I oppose the Land Bonds (see this web link for reasons)

  • I support the CPCC and the Sheriff's bonds

There may be others on the local Boards that are also good candidates but I don't know enough about them at this point. The other GOP candidates endorsed by the party are as follows:
