(Note that each at-large Democrat - Helms, Roberts and Rembert each took $3,000 in campaign contributions from Mecklenburg County's local homosexual PAC - 'MeckPAC'. This information can be verified at this web link:  http://www.meckpac.org/Voter%20Guide%202006%20General.pdf).
 
All three were "endorsed". Most of the GOP were issued "warnings". It is reasonable then to conclude that all three Democrats favor homosexual marriage, domestic partner benefits and assorted other pro-gay legislation as does Parks Helms. A County department issues Marriage licenses so the issue is relevant to County government.
