Telling the "good judges" from the "not so good" requires understanding who is backing whom. Below is an e-newsletter from Judge Duke (running for NC Supreme Court Chief Justice) that highlights how the Democrats are trying to manipulate the judicial selection process and avoid the campaign financing limits for judges that they themselves put into place in the legislature. The Charlotte Observer wrote an editorial today about how a group called "fairjudges.net" (a front for Democrats) was trying to buy judicial elections and avoid campaign finance law. A link to that op-ed is as follows: http://www.charlotte.com/mld/charlotte/news/opinion/15917238.htm In Judge Duke's e-newsletter below he summarizes the contributors to "fairjudges.net" - an assortment of left wing groups and Democrat party activists. They are raising this money to put on TV ad's to try and confuse voters into thinking that "fairjudges" is impartial when they are anything but. Who are the good judges? I would also ad that in Charlotte-Mecklenburg there is a choice between two Democrats, one Tonja Damon who was found guilty of using her worktime and government resources to send mass e-mails to assist in her election in the judicial primary. She should have stepped down but the matter was swept under the judicial rug. In that race, I would encourage you to vote for Ms. Damon's opponent to send a message that such electoral manipulation will not be allowed. |
